My mother-in-law bought this dvd set for my son for her to use at her house when she watches him while I am at work. She bought it when he was 8 months old and now he is 14 months old and enjoys watching the videos. He dances and interacts with these videos and gets us to interact too. He says row-row-row, at 14 months. He also says, dog, duck, cat, meow, and woof woof. When the songs come on, he gets up to row his boat, head shoulders knees and toes, he touches his head, shoulders, knees and toes. I have seen other children his age and they are not nearly as advanced as he is. Also, when he sees words that are on the video, like the word clap, he claps! I highly recommend these videos to all parents who want to get a jump start on their childs education.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY PARENT WITH A YOUNG CHILD. I GOT IT FOR MY 2 YEAR OLD AND WITHIN A FEW WEEKS HE WAS READING MOST OF THE WORDS ON THE STARTER VIDEO. WE ARE NOW ON VOL.2 AND HE HAS ABOUT 50 WORDS THAT HE CAN READ CONSISTANTLY.I’M TALKING ABOUT WORDS LIKE BELLYBUTTON AND CHIMPANZEE. HE BEGS ME TO PLAY THE VIDEOS OVER AND OVER. HE LOVES THEM AND SO DO I. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I GAVE THE INTRO VIDEO TO MY COUSIN FOR HER 2 YEAR OLD AND SHE HAS ALREADY STARTED READING SOME WORDS TOO!!! THANK YOU DR. TITZER!!! YOU CAN START AS EARLY AS 3 MONTHS. I FOUND MY SET FOR $34.99 ON HALF.COM. THIS SET IS AN AWSOME BABY GIFT.

My daughter is 13 months and can read more words than I can keep up with. These DVD’s are amazing!!! I promise if you follow the parent instructions your baby will learn how to read and recognize letters very easily. I bought the DVD set, when my daughter was 4 months old. She has watched it everyday twice a day ever since and still LOVES IT. She started to clap at 9 months and could read the word clap at 9 months old. She learned all her body parts at 12 months: eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, neck, mouth, belly, toes, feet, and hands. She can read all the body parts as well. She has even learned big words like elephant and animals. She cannot yet pronounce all the letters, but this will come. This DVD has helped her learn everything faster. I have incorporated sign language and she easily learns a sign after a week. She can sign, book, more, eat, hot, and itsy, bitsy spider.

I can go on and on about what she can do, but more importantly these DVDs open you up to what BABIES can learn at an early age. I feel there is nothing that I cannot teach her as long

as I do it in a fun and playful way.

My son have been watching the videos for about a month now, since he’s 8 months old.

At first he would only sit in front of the TV for a few minutes. Now he seems to really enjoy it, and he’s engaged for the entire duration of the first DVD (about 15 minutes).

We were very surprised to see him raise his arms up in the air when the words “arms up” appeared on the screen last week. Very promising.

I’ll try to update this post every month or so to update you on his progress.

He now waves whenever the word wave is displayed.

And now (10 weeks into this program) he can recognise the words tongue, head, arms, eyes, and ears.

A year into watching the videos at least once a day, we stopped counting how many words he can read … He’s 22 months old now, and can read at least every other word in books he’s seen for the first time. Very grateful for these videos. Obviously we have been reading to/with him a fair bit as well, but it is mostly due watching the videos.

I started this video when my son was three months old. My ONLY concern with this video is that it’s a little flashy/quick cutting for a younger child. I did contact the company about this and I was told that this was to keep the attention of older viewers. We just skipped the intro to minimize the quick cuts, wipes, etc. Also, it is quite funny that the STARTER video has simple words such as “hi”, “arm”, “dog” then simply jumps up to “hippopotamus”. Nonetheless, I am still giving this video five stars as it has proven invaluable to my son.

It does take a HUGE commitment. We watched the series 5-6 days a week then bumped it up to 2 times a day after 10 months. Per Dr. Titzer, adult participation is preferred and it does get VERY trying at times to watch these videos over and over and over. Also, Dr. Titzer recommends no other videos which can be quite a challenge.

At sixteen months (although my son was not verbal), he could identify body parts and sign for objects such as dog and airplane from our home-made flash cards utilizing the words taught on this video. It truly was amazing and maybe some day I will actually get around to attaching a video of him reading. It was quite entertaining and my son loved the attention. My brother found it particularly amusing to ask my son to “act French,” when holding up the “arms up” card.

***MOST importantly, when my son was in Speech Therapy (he was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years 3 months), they were able to use his reading to get him to speak. For example, they would write “I want juice” instead of using PECS and my son would read the request aloud. Gradually, he was able to utilize language in a functional manner. Now he can make requests without prompting. By age two, my son started reading phonetically which is amazing. When my son started in an early intervention program, the teachers did not believe me when I told them my son could read. Two weeks later, the teachers excitedly told me that my son could ACTUALLY read. Apparently, many parents think their child can read, but in fact they memorize books so the teacher didn’t believe me. The teachers and aides were so excited about discovering his reading ability they informally tested him and surmised he was reading at a second + grade reading level. The occupational therapist got a kick when my son read her business card and called her an, “occupahtional therapist.” Although my son is behind in several areas, the ability to read has given him a real leg up in at least one area. I don’t think that we would have made as much progress without the help of these videos. Out of the thousands of dollars we have spent in therapy this series was THE BEST investment I have ever made!!!!

Currently, we have started the series with our second son. He is now 9 months old. I’ll keep you updated.

I own this dvd set and was looking online at the reviews when buying it as a gift for a friend. Please keep in mind this video is for young children when you read a lot of the “1 star” ratings.

I agree that the videos appear low budget, but they do their job. The video’s job is to entertain children 3 months to 3 years, not the parents. Don’t give up on the concept because the transition from one image to the next isn’t appealing enough for a full grown adult.

My daughter started watching these at 15 months and is already picking up words. We are on tape three and she definitely likes some of the videos over the others. If your child gets bored move onto the next video, don’t force them to watch it in a high chair.

I also think the success or rating of this product depends on how much other television you let your child watch. This is the only show our daughter watches and she loves it. I can imagine if your kid is used to regular tv they might think these simple videos boring.

Overall and excellent product that looks homemade.

I have met the author on 2 occasions when he was touring the Northwest. I had the opportunity to ask how his daughters, featured on the video, were doing with their reading skills. I have read about speed reading skills of early readers over the last 10 to 20 years. Like many other early readers, they are excellent readers, what I call “jaw dropping” abilities in reading. The earlier a child learns to read, the better reader the child will be. Like other early readers I have read about, both his daughters easily read a large book in a single evening! They have amazing comprehension, which some call photographic memory, but is really just a good memory of what they have read. The girls, like other early readers, have excellent vocabularies and score maximum points on their standardized tests. Having read of so many cases like this, I am convinced that these amazing reading and comprehension skills are only acquired when reading is learned at a very young age. It does not seem to matter how a child learns to read whether by videos, cards, or books with large words, early readers are far superior readers. Oh, though a speed reading course can help, these girls can also go into a “speed reading” mode, so don’t wait to get started thinking your child can take a speed reading course and catch up!

My son, now 7 months old, has been watching these DVD’s since he was 3 months old. He loves them! They are very educational and fun for him to watch. He gets so excited each time we play one. They are low budget, but so educational. He loves all the babies, children and animals that are shown consistantly in all the videos. He also loves all the songs! Repetition helps babies and children learn. He has already begun to say words he hears in the videos such as “Hooray” from the song “If you’re happy and you know it” which is amazing for a 7 month old. I have Dr. Titzer to thank for that! I highly recommend these DVD’s.

I bought the set at 3 months.Played them 1 to 2 times a day and at 15 months she could read, even words she had never seen before. At 21 months her speech is clear and she reads everything

See for yourself. Google (Autumn Boit) for the link to WBAL in Baltimore Babies Reading to see my daughter read.

Give your child this gift, you”ll be happy you did.
